The Wolf Moon

Posted here for your enjoyment is a photograph my wife made of the "Wolf Moon". The "Wolf Moon" is the closest full moon of the year on its elliptical orbit and occurs in the middle of winter. Common folklore suggests this is the moon that the wolves howl at in their midwinter hunger, often popularized in television and such.

The photo was taken at a very chilly -28F on a starkly clear night. I heard no wolves while out on the photo run, hungry or otherwise. The photo is technically not the "wolf moon" since its one day waning. It will have to do since photos of a true "full moon" generally don't expose well for reasons my wife can explain at length(but positively escape me)... Enjoy!
